Plastics are highly sensitive to degradation when exposed to ultraviolet radiation — UV breaks down chemical bonds in polymers (photodegradation), leading to cracking, chalking, colour fading and loss of mechanical properties. RSPIMB UV Masterbatch incorporates UV stabilizers to minimise these effects and extend product life: UV absorbers act as short-term stabilizers that absorb harmful radiation and convert it into heat, while HALS (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers) neutralise the free radicals formed during oxidation for long-term protection — highly efficient, colourless and effective even at low concentrations. The optimum system depends on climate conditions, product thickness, polymer type and other additives present, and our team helps select the right combination for each application.
